Day 6 devlog


WHAT DID YOU DO

  • Added the Null character, the character for which I didn't have graphics. It cycles through the other character's animations randomly but otherwise behaves exactly the same as the Cadet (for now, eventually the cadet will have a special ability, null will remain this way)
  • Worked on a bit of UI to display the player's health (not implemented, but image coming up)
  •   Ordered as: Full heart, half heart, empty heart. Each character will have its own heart display based on their head (all made already, just gotta implement them)
  • Fixed last update's bug
  • Made a twitterand instagram for the game, juaneiro was taken on both so I guess I'm juaneiro9 for the meantime.
  • No seriously that's it adding the null character took a while

WHAT DID YOU BREAK

Apparently enemies are randomly taking double damage under circumstances I can't replicate consistently. No idea how I'll fix that one...

WHAT'S NEXT

Either room generation or collectibles! I wish I could do collectibles first so I can get started on actually implementing some of that UI I made, but collectibles are pretty tied to finishing a room / killing enemies so I will almost certainly have to implement room generation first. Also the asset pack I'm using only comes with horizontal doors (to use on south and north) so I'll have to try making east and west doors.
